The Transfiguration of Our Lord (photos)

“You were transfigured on the mountain, O Christ God, revealing Your glory to Your disciples as far as they could bear it. Let Your everlasting Light also shine upon us sinners,  through the prayers of the Theotokos. O Giver of Light, glory to You!” Troparion of Transfiguration

On August 6th we celebrate the transfiguration of Our Lord on Mount Tabor before the apostles Peter, James, and John. Christ’s face and clothing shone brighter than the sun, revealing His Divinity and the true glory He has in Heaven.

This August feast traditionally coincides with harvest season, and thus there is the tradition of blessing grapes and other fruits after the Divine Liturgy.

Here are some photos from our celebration of the feast.
