On August 6th we celebrate the transfiguration of Our Lord on Mount Tabor before the apostles Peter, James, and John. Christ’s face and clothing shone brighter than the sun, revealing His Divinity and the true glory He has in Heaven.
This August feast traditionally coincides with harvest season, and thus there is the tradition of blessing grapes and other fruits after the Divine Liturgy.
